As psychologists we take care of the wellbeing and mental health of each client that engages in therapy with us. At Excel Psychology, we provide a peaceful and calm environment, which reflects the essence of our practice. One of the key elements that is part of the calm nature of our clinic is that as a team we care for each other. We work collaboratively and we make sure that each of us is comfortable and safe. This means that as professionals we have all the support and resources, but as individuals, our team is available to comfort and care when personal issues arise.
In every profession and job, there should be a supportive network that will provide care and understanding in different circumstances each professional might encounter. Some important aspects of a supportive work environment that promotes positive outcomes for the organisation are:
- Increment of productivity
- Positive engagement among employees
- Collaboration
Increment of retention- a positive work environment makes employees feel valued and appreciated, which reduce employee turnover
And not only that, a supportive and caring work environment provides to the employee a range of different options that will allow them to grow as a professional and feel comfortable as individuals. Some of these positive aspects for the enrichment of the employee are:
- Connection and collaboration
- Wellbeing
- Facilitate opportunities for learning and development
- Avoid burnout
- Work-life balance
- Recognition for hard work
- Connection to a community
- Protection from harm
Employees want to feel that they are valued and that they can reach the maximum potential in the workplace. Hence, the role of the supportive environment is pivotal to help each team member feel safe, motivated and engaged. In conclusion, a supportive workplace reflects on the environment and relationship between team members.A collaborative workplace will reflect on each individual and in our case, on each client that comes to our clinic to get support and care.
