Registered Psychologist

BAppSc (Hons), MPsych (Couns)

Gemma is a warm, thoughtful, and compassionate psychologist who works with adolescents and adults across a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and relational concerns. She takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach, supporting and developing the client’s strengths. She is passionate about helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Gemma has a particular interest in how early relationships and family-of-origin experiences can shape current patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships. She draws on attachment-informed frameworks to support greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and the development of healthier ways of relating to self and others. Clients often appreciate her collaborative style and the calm, respectful space she creates in therapy.

Her approach integrates evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and family-informed interventions. Gemma also has strong interests in perinatal mental health, parenting support, and child development.

Gemma’s postgraduate research explored the intersection of ADHD and trauma, with a focus on the experiences of women diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood. She is particularly passionate about advocating for neurodivergent girls and women and providing trauma-informed, evidence-based care.

Gemma supports individuals with presentations such as anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence (including autism and ADHD), emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges, and parenting concerns. She also has experience working with children and adolescents and supporting families.

Gemma holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology Honours) and a Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and has completed a Master of Psychology (Counselling). She is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Gemma is a good fit for people seeking a warm, collaborative, and neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapy, particularly those wanting support to better understand themselves, their relationships, and their emotional world.
